This is kind of a big deal. I didn’t want to add to the already too hype hype.
But, let’s not get too worked up.
Why can’t we, Western North Carolina, be the next “hub”? This is my new project.
This and the Asheville Beer Price Index.
AVL is already the de facto brewing hub of the state. Why can’t we have an official brewing area like Raleigh has its innovation area? Start playing ball Meadows!
How I’ma get to the good spots now? Guess I gotta hike!
I love collaborations! And Wicked Weed is (one of) the best breweries in AVL’s ‘Brewery District’. I wish I could get this beer bottled but looks like it’ll only be kegged.
You already know I love collaborations. But did you know that I also love nature? Well I do. That’s why I want this to happen soon with the WNC Nature Center and maybe Hi-Wire since they’re so philanthropic. And maybe not maple but chestnut or sorghum or sassafras.
“We are done with the first phase of our building” plans and are brewing beer, “but we are struggling to mimic the product flavor profile due to a number of differences in the altitude and the weather,” compared to the company’s headquarters in Chico, Calif., he said.
“We are finally getting it tuned down. I would really, really be surprised if by the end of this month we are not in the first phase of our full production” of beer that tastes exactly like that coming from Chico.”
Work is continuing on the New Belgium site in the River Arts District. As is expected they are taking great care with the environment during the building process. Gotta keep that French Broad clean.
But if you’re concerned, “the state will take public comment through Feb. 13. If no substantial issues are raised, the plan will be approved.” Gotta keep that community involvement goin.
Any other event I can get drunk at and then clean up?
For reals though, the reason I’m a drunken janitor is cause brewers are really just glorified janitors who do some brewing and we get free beer. Not disparaging the art or science of brewing but cleaning is the real work, amirite?
